In fact, all of the economic and trade agreements that the EU signs with third countries should continue to take account of the level of respect that those countries demonstrate towards human rights. As the EU is a model area, it is therefore up to us to set an example of respect for human rights and, as such, we need sufficient financial resources to carry out programmes and projects for this purpose."@en1
