"Today, the early school leaving (ESL) rate in the EU is 15%. A reduction of at least 5% would have important effects, reducing youth unemployment and the unemployment rate, since currently, 52% of early school leavers are unemployed. With today’s resolution, we are urging the Member States to carry out an analysis of the problem of early school leaving, and to develop appropriate packages of measures for prevention. We need to support more effective and targeted policies for needs-based learning at schools. All youngsters should be helped to enter the world of work through individual careers advisory services."@en1
