"One of the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy is to reduce the rate of early school leaving to 10% by 2020. The aim of this is to provide the whole EU with skilled workers, while also ensuring a future for the various Member States. To this end, measures need to be adopted that can give a response to young people who, year after year, are leaving formal education at a very early stage. The data indicates that a wide range of reasons lead to early school leaving, which suggests that a range of different responses are also needed. This justifies the exchange of best practice between the different Member States in an attempt to find the most suitable ways of achieving the laudable objective of the Europe 2020 strategy. I therefore voted in favour."@en1
