"Young people leaving school early is a major problem in the European Union. I fully support the cooperation of the Member States in this area, thanks to which we are able to reduce its severity. Nowadays, in view of the low birth rate, it is vital that young people receive education to a level that enables them to find valuable and well-paid jobs in later life. This will help improve the financial situation of future workers, as a result of which the number of those living in poverty will fall. In future, this will have a positive impact on the economy, as well as improving its stability. Teaching in schools can be adapted in such a way that pupils are eager to learn, and feel that what they are taught will be useful in later life. The use of innovative teaching solutions can have an impact on pupils’ development, which will encourage them to continue their education. Unconventional education methods, for example, dance, theatre or other forms of expression, may lead to a reduction in early school leaving. Learning in the form of entertainment will become attractive and interesting for pupils, which, in the future, may result in a smaller percentage of young people becoming disinterested in education. At present, early school leaving is more of a problem in rural areas than in towns and cities. There are regions which expect our help in this area. In this respect, it is also important to support schools and parents in order to better reach out to pupils."@en1
