This market makes a major contribution to the further development of e-commerce services, and the remaining barriers to the digital single market must therefore be eliminated as quickly as possible. The different value added tax rates applied to digital and physical goods are a serious problem today, preventing the potential for growth and the wide range of goods and services that the digital market can provide from being fully exploited. This also leads to discriminatory treatment where the benefits of the single market only apply to physical goods."@en1
