lpv:spoken text	"I welcome this resolution ahead of the EU-US Summit of 28 November 2011. The combined potential of the strengths of the transatlantic markets is self-evident. I believe that, together with the US, we have the ability to shape international regulatory regimes, to spur growth and to act as one of the engines of global recovery. Exploiting the potential for such synergies means that we need to avoid resorting to protectionist measures and competing in an austerity drive with hopes of balancing budgets through exports to partners which are actually mirroring that same strategy. Rather than falling prey to common weaknesses, the US and the EU need to engage in a transatlantic strategy for jobs and growth, to invest in sustainable infrastructure, while strengthening upstream regulatory cooperation to prevent needless obstacles to business across the Atlantic."@en1
