"Madam President, nuclear energy will play a strategic role in Europe’s energy mix for at least another 50 years. In light of this, it is vital to create a new state-of-the-art technological sector in the field of fusion energy. Europe needs safe, sustainable, green and viable energy. At the same time, the safety and efficiency of using nuclear resources must be increased. Providing long-term waste management solutions is of paramount importance.
The European Union must allocate sufficient funds to achieve these objectives. In Romania the largest low-temperature laboratory in Europe is going to be created for specific technical applications. Financed using European funds, the laboratory in Râmnicu Vâlcea will help create the first nuclear fusion reactor at Cadarache."@en1
