lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of the report by Piotr Borys on European cinema in the digital era. There had been no work on this subject by European Parliament for over 10 years despite the many significant changes that have taken place in the cinema industry over the past few years with the arrival of digital technology. Our task as MEPs is to call for a gentle transition towards new digital technology and in particular to provide more help to small cinemas so that they can invest in new production, archiving or projection infrastructure. I feel that it is also important to promote diversity in European film production and the cinema network as this diversity truly reflects Europe’s wide range of cultural identities. Making the MEDIA programme permanent in the years to come, in particular, would be one way of achieving this."@en1
