The separation of related activities as recommended therein invariably leads to the transfer of revenue-generating activities to the private sector and loss-making activities remaining in the public sector. If the European railway network is to once again be the most efficient means of transporting freight over medium and long distances, it needs coordination, integration and investment. This report will not enable this, hence my vote against."@en1
