It is all about making this sector more dynamic and competitive. This requires removing the technical, legal and political obstacles that lie on the track to a European railway area. Transparency must be increased, rules rewritten more clearly and the railway area placed under fair and strict control. By improving the conditions of competition on the railway market, this report will offer our citizens an efficient and diversified railway network that better meets their needs.
