"I voted in favour of allocating financial assistance to Ireland. The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund was created in order to provide additional assistance to workers suffering from the consequences of major structural changes in world trade patterns. Ireland has requested assistance in respect of 842 workers made redundant from 230 enterprises involved in architectural and engineering activities and in the areas of technical testing and analysis. This application complies with the requirements for determining financial contributions, and I therefore welcome the mobilisation of an amount of EUR 1 387 819."@en1
