"Madam President, I have also been a member of the ACP-EU Assembly for many years, and, following the Treaty of Lisbon, I was pleased that the European External Action Service would be helping us to promote common aims, including respect for human rights. As Vice-President responsible for Human Rights, I really welcomed the active work of this service on the ground in individual countries where there are problems particularly, of course, with open violence against women. It is also necessary for our ambassadors in these places to help with the creation of strategic plans, and with the implementation of what we are striving for in our Joint Assembly. In conclusion, I would like to ask again what steps the Commission has taken or is taking against enforced collectivisation of the land. This has already been said here. We cannot ignore the expulsions of white farmers, whether in Zimbabwe or Kenya or elsewhere. I would also like to ask how powers will be shared between the Commission and External Action Service. In conclusion, I would like to add my voice to those that have expressed regret over the fact that our reports from the ACP countries are not debated here in plenary."@en1
