I think that we need to set an example, and not only by keeping to our financial commitments. The EU’s policies must be consistent and focus on the sectors which form the basis for sustainable development. This is why I support the approach proposed by the Commission in the Agenda for Change presented in October. I should emphasise the importance of coordination between donors and joint programming. I call on the Commission to provide us with more details about its efforts in this area.
