"Madam President, global warming is one of the most serious threats at the moment. Climate change will have a considerable environmental, economic and social impact. I think that the EU should retain its role as global leader on climate matters and come up with a clear strategy during the Durban conference. Environmental policy needs to be integrated more effectively into other sectoral policies. It is crucial for the future to get rid of the barriers in this area.
In my country, the priority measures plan for implementing the EU’s environmental
this year envisages 85 measures. The legislative package refers, in particular, to industrial pollution control, waste management and water quality. At the same time, the strategy for adapting the Danube Delta to climate change promotes the production of energy from sustainable biomass."@en1
