"The implementation of this directive is very important in order to provide doctors, engineers, dentists and all other professionals with the opportunity to work in another EU country. In this way, we will make the labour market more flexible. This can only happen with mutual recognition of professional qualifications, and with their rapid implementation, whilst always taking care not to compromise the reliability and safety of their performance. Speeding up recognition procedures for professional qualifications would also help young Europeans to believe professional experience in any Member State is possible. In this context of crisis, all European professionals are hoping their mobility will increase so as to be able to exercise their profession. One way of simplifying the procedures, which are too bureaucratic, is to introduce a voluntary professional passport to be included immediately in the internal market’s existing information system, capable of connecting all the public authorities throughout the EU."@en1
