"I welcome this agreement between the EU and Georgia on the creation of a common aviation area because it is important not just for transport but also in the sense that it establishes a stronger basis for cooperation in the neighbourhood policy. It should be noted that, for carriers of both parties, this agreement will open up markets and create uniform, non-discriminatory operating conditions, while eliminating existing barriers. Thus, aviation undertakings in Europe and Georgia will be able to provide air services on a level playing field without any restrictions. I believe that this agreement will not only open up new opportunities and strengthen the position of carriers, but will also facilitate full use of airport infrastructure because, according to initial estimates, there should be a significant increase in the amount of passengers and cargo."@en1
