Social innovation will also be supported through the LEADER programme, which is to be beefed up. Furthermore, one of the six European partnerships for innovation that the Commission will offer is aimed at agriculture, the agri-food sector and rural communities. Research policy, the European partnership for innovation and the rural development programme will enable us not only to find solutions through science, but also to apply them in practice, on farms and in other economic activities in rural communities.
