"Madam President, crisis situations lead to greater poverty without social cohesion.
We have all become poorer. We Spaniards have seen our average income fall by 4.4%, but what I want to condemn today is the fact that we are becoming increasingly impoverished in Member States and communities due to poor political management.
In Spain, we Valencians lag three points behind in our capacity to deal with the crisis. Unemployment is higher, and there are also public funding irregularities being looked into by the Court of Accounts. There are foundations that support political parties and receive larger contributions than very important public foundations, such as the Vicente Ferrer Foundation.
This is why the rapporteur has called for transparency. This is an important issue. We need a solution to the crisis right now, but a solution with cohesion in order to prevent poverty."@en1
