Thus, it must be ensured that the blanket retention and processing of passenger name record data of all passengers comes with strong data protection guarantees and respect for the privacy of EU citizens in compliance with relevant EU norms. Consequently, legal certainty and objective evidence supporting the claim that it is necessary and proportionate to store and process PNR data are needed in both existing and future EU agreements.
