Not all the criteria allowing for the protection of data have been met, and one is entitled to have some concerns. The European Commission has failed to show why the mass collection of data is necessary and to request the opinion of the Fundamental Rights Agency on this agreement. I also regret the fact that the legal basis is not that of data protection, when this is the purpose of the agreement. For these reasons I voted against during the vote in plenary."@en1
