lpv:translated text	"− I voted in favour of this report because I believe that the reform and improvement of the European Asylum System is a priority for the EU, particularly in the context of the problems caused by recent events in the southern Mediterranean. The recast of the Directive on the qualification for international protection is very important and necessary, but it should be borne in mind that the whole asylum package must be adopted by the end of 2012. The most important aspect of the reform of the asylum system will be the improvement of solidarity between Member States in dealing with people who seek protection from the EU. European countries must prove that they are capable of reviving this spirit of solidarity both for the benefit of their own citizens and of those who need their protection."@en1
