lpv:translated text	"I voted for this report on the Annual Report on the European Ombudsman’s Activities in 2010. In the annual report for 2010, submitted to Parliament, particular attention is given to the new strategy that the Ombudsman and his staff have formulated for his 2009-2014 mandate. The aims of this are not only to listen to stakeholders by obtaining feedback from complainants, broadening and deepening contacts with the EU institutions and civil society, and identifying best practices, but also to deliver results faster by reducing the time needed to conclude inquiries, and to develop simplified procedures, so as to promote the rapid resolution of complaints. I believe these are worthy and necessary objectives for an institution which is very often the public’s last resort in resolving their problems with the administration."@en1
