I support this important report because, as the text shows, the assessments and respective estimates are considered reliable. The points have been drawn up with care and precision, never departing from the key objectives which we set ourselves: better functioning of the labour market, an increasingly skilled workforce, improved quality of working conditions and more robust policies capable of effectively stimulating the creation of new jobs. The reference to female entrepreneurship, for example, shows that we need to use this time where women are underrepresented and unemployed in order to reform our current legislation by drawing on our past and present experience.
This is why I hope that the European Parliament will continue to play a key role in the coordination of the Member States’ social policies. While this report is an important result, determination and constant commitment shown by our national laws are, in fact, an even more important result in order to complement the Europe 2020 strategy in the best way possible."@en1
