However, the other Member States do not allow – the Council does not allow – this same benefit to be offered to all women in those countries. Why do you divide our citizens into two groups, an elite one, and one that we cannot afford? I have heard the answer many times: that we cannot afford it. It would have been interesting occasionally to hear the Commission say, when discussing a bank bailout, that we could not afford it.
