lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I would like to express my support for Ms Estrela and thank her for her initiative to urge the Council to enter into negotiations with Parliament. I would also like to thank the Polish Presidency, which has really made a huge effort in this area. I am convinced that it is through negotiations that we can open the doors in this area, but we must be able to negotiate on the basis of a proposal. I would also like to take the opportunity to point out the importance of shared parental responsibility for children. There is much to indicate that a better balance between family life and work, for both men and women, leads to better social development, both from the point of view of equality and from an economic perspective, above all, a long-term economic perspective. It is therefore high time that all of the parties involved took responsibility and sat round the negotiating table. That is the only way that we will be able to find a solution to this problem."@en1
