"I voted in favour of this report on organised crime in the European Union because it is a fully legally substantiated proposal and we need very careful provisions to address this issue, given that it is different from terrorism. The European States need to be proactive in freezing the proceeds of organised crime, in order to condemn these practices and prevent a repetition of them in the future. Organised crime needs coordinated and cross-border action to combat it in the areas in Europe in which it is deeply rooted. The Committee on Foreign Affairs has a clear role to play."@en1
