"This report concerns promoting workers’ mobility. I agree with the conclusions presented, in particular, with regard to the need to boost the positive efforts of the Commission towards effective implementation and support for workers’ mobility. Given the current situation, the economic rationale for opening up the markets has never been clearer. Over-protectionism in terms of labour mobility will engender a growing separation between Member States and a mistrust that could affect the EU’s performance as a global player and weaken its competitive position. I agree with the rapporteur’s statement that the time has come for the European Member States to work and grow together."@en1
