"At this particular historical moment, marked by an overall strength which forces us to rethink the labour market model, I find Mr Ungureanu’s proposal relevant and determined to resolve crucial issues regarding the role played by mobility of workers within the EU. I therefore voted in favour. Worker mobility must be encouraged in two ways: firstly, by working for the removal of bureaucratic barriers that limit a correct approach to the free market, and secondly, by encouraging the workers of Member States at a cultural and social level and properly informing them of the opportunities provided by worker mobility. Among the proposals in the report, there is one on the recognition of diplomas and qualifications acquired in the worker’s home country. Streamlining a step in the bureaucratic process, which is often an obstacle to worker mobility and therefore to a process of economic and social growth, is an outcome that must be supported by similar initiatives for the future on the part of Europe, both politically and institutionally."@en1
