"Mr President, just as the adoption of the Small Business Act document in 2008 has benefited entrepreneurs in Europe, making the procedure for setting up a company not only easier and simpler, but also more cost-effective, I would like to introduce for discussion under this item on the agenda European Private Companies, EPCs for short.
We all know that, in practical terms, EPCs would mean that SMEs can carry out their professional activities no matter which region of the European Union they are located in, as well as in their own country. If they opt to become an EPC, entrepreneurs will save time and money in legal aid, management and administration.
I think that, at the present time, governments must come to an agreement on a new legislative act to enable small enterprises to register as European Private Companies, precisely in order to be able to ensure the development of such companies with European support. I think that this option, in addition to adopting the European sales contract, would mark a real leap forward for SMEs in the European Union."@en1
