lpv:translated text	"Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, I am in favour of the report, which is used as an occasion to take stock and examine European public procurement policy. The report calls for compliance with the criteria of transparency, clarity, sustainability and accessibility, as well as further simplification and improved legal certainty. In order to support small and medium-sized enterprises and local bodies, I agree with the request to assess the possibility of raising the current thresholds for so-called European contracts. Fairer conditions, simplified access and minimal administrative requirements are also called for. It is important to encourage calls for tenders that stimulate innovation and strengthen the rules on subcontracting, so as to keep health and safety standards always high, by supporting local authorities. All this may have a significant effect in terms of development and the fight against corruption, and result in better utilisation of public funds."@en1
