"This report, which was drafted by Mr Moreira, concerns a proposal for a regulation of Parliament and of the Council amending Council Regulation (EC) No 1215/2009, which adopts exceptional trade measures for countries and territories participating in or linked to the EU’s Stabilisation and Association process. Since 2000, the EU has granted exceptional, unlimited, duty-free access to the EU market for nearly all products originating in these countries as a way of supporting internal reform processes and the implementation of democratic regimes. I voted for this report, as I believe that the extension until 31 December 2015 of trade preferences is crucial for the Western Balkan countries linked to the Stabilisation and Association process: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. Under these preferences, these countries benefit from significant economic advantages in their exports to the Member States."@en1
