Mr Asmussen has, since July 2008, been State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of the Federal Republic of Germany, and has long experience of economic and financial governance. He has also been Germany’s G7 and G20 Finance Deputy, a member of the Eurogroup Working Group, a member of the Financial Stability Board, Alternate Governor at the World Bank and Alternate Governor at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. I voted in favour because he is someone with vast experience in this area, and I hope his carrying out of his roles will be crowned with success."@en¹
