Firstly, the fact that VAT collection instruments and methods currently in force are hopelessly outdated, and that the sooner we replace them, the better it will be for us all, particularly in the midst of the crisis. Secondly, the reform of the VAT system should be implemented expeditiously, but should properly take into account the needs of consumers, because they are among the main actors covering the costs of this tax and its inefficiency.
