lpv:translated text	"Madam President, the European Commission and France had previously agreed a measure to award EUR 24.5 million in European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aid to 3 580 workers affected by a redundancy plan at Renault. The change to the retirement age in France, following the negotiations concerning the fund, has left 72 workers in limbo. The Minister for Labour, Xavier Bertrand, is currently reviewing this problem. The socialist group, acting on a request made by the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, has tabled two amendments in the Committee on Budgets calling for an audit and for part of the 24.5 million to be placed in reserve. The permanent rapporteur, Barbara Matera, and the European Commission have confirmed the inadmissibility of these amendments, which are contrary to the EGF Regulation and which have therefore been thrown out. Nevertheless, the left, joined in an unnatural alliance by those sworn opponents of the EGF, the European Conservatives and Reformists Group and the liberals, has voted against the 24.5 million allocation, and the mandate has been rejected in full. Ultimately, a partisan scheme designed to inconvenience the French Government has put the company and 3 500 workers in an unprecedented and disastrous position. Europe is once again stigmatised. I hope that this very unfortunate measure can be reconsidered."@en1
