"Madam President, the course of events set in motion in Ukraine recently is more than unsettling. And here we should not only be discussing the doubts surrounding Ms Tymoshenko, but also the unspeakable levels of corruption in Ukraine. We should be discussing the fact that the aim here is to eliminate not only Ms Tymoshenko but the entire opposition as well. And, of course, we should be discussing the oppression of minorities in Ukraine, including the Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia, whose most sacred monument, the one at Verecke Pass commemorating the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin, has been defiled several times in this year, similarly to previous years. I reject the downright absurd comparison made by my fellow Members Mr Tabajdi and Mr Swoboda, who liken Ferenc Gyurcsány to Ms Tymoshenko. Let us not confuse Little Red Riding Hood with the Big Bad Wolf.
Mr Gyurcsány is a fallen dictator. Ms Tymoshenko would never have ordered her own people to be shot at. Ms Tymoshenko would never have called on the Ukrainian people to vote against the citizenship of Ukrainians living abroad. Finally, Ms Tymoshenko never won the elections through lies."@en1
