"Madam President, Baroness Ashton, I sincerely apologise for not addressing you directly. However, this is simply due to the fact that I fully support your statement and all of the points it contains. Firstly, I would like to address the Ukrainian nation, and to declare that we will support their aspirations and their hopes of becoming part of the Western European community. Secondly, I would like to address President Yanukovych. Mr President, you have an opportunity to make history, either as someone who signed a vitally important agreement with the European Union, crucial to the future of your people, or as a person whose name will join that of Alexander Lukashenko in the dark chapters of history, since what has happened to Yulia Tymoshenko is not a far cry from what goes on in Belarus. I would also like to address those who are sometimes described as having enormous influence in Ukrainian politics, Mr Akhmetov and Mr Firtash. Gentlemen, you are wrong in thinking that you can do business with the EU and western enterprises and, at the same time, support and condone this type of violation of the basic rules of democracy. We will remember what you have been doing. Lastly, I would like to address the judge, Mr Kireyev, who handed down the sentence. Mr Kireyev, judges in Belarus who engage in the type of conduct that you have engaged in are prohibited from entering the EU. We are close to making a similar decision in your case as well."@en1
