"Mr President, I have a comment to make about today’s order of business. It includes a debate on the situation in Yemen and Bahrain, which has been extended to cover Syria and Egypt. These issues are very important, but they concern states over which we have no direct influence. The fact is, Mr President, Member States’ armed forces, under NATO control, are today continuing to kill, in our name, the last remaining supporters of the former regime in Libya. This is a far cry from the mandate that was granted by the United Nations. I have no idea how many victims Europe’s bombs have currently claimed in Sirte or in the surrounding areas, and I feel that we should address this issue. We are more than just the weapon bearers of NATO and the United States."@en1
