This situation is also compounded by the threat facing the aid distribution organisations of the food stocks running out. I think that the EU needs to assess the situation and the humanitarian aid which still needs to be given to the Tunisian authorities to avert a humanitarian disaster in the region. I also believe that Europe, as a partner in the Union for the Mediterranean, must be involved more via its neighbourhood policy mechanisms to avoid the possibility of the shortage of food being used as a weapon and to tighten food security in the region."@en1
