"MsĀ Sargentini, we know very well that the vast majority of these people are not political refugees. They want to emigrate for reasons other than political persecution at home. There are some major problems there, I would not want to deny that, of course, but I believe that it is our duty and our job to ensure that, from Europe, we send out every possible signal to those countries to improve the situation on the ground, instead of always just giving people the status of political refugee that clashes with reality. Because, if we were to follow your logic to its natural conclusion, we would actually have to resettle in Europe the entire populations of those countries. That, of course, is absolutely impossible."@en1
