"Mr President, I did not entirely catch the last part of the question, but accidents did occur at a storage facility in France a fortnight ago. Workers were contaminated and there were some terrible accidents. Let us not pretend that nothing is wrong. Nuclear power comes with extremely high risks, as we have seen in Japan. This leads to social and environmental instability. We must put a stop to that. There are plenty of other sustainable solutions which do not generate nuclear waste and which we in Europe could make greater use of. However, we have to start doing that here, so that we can demonstrate the credibility of our intentions to other countries."@en1
