We are being put on trial. We are being told, on the one hand, that there is the European policy and, on the other, that there is the policy of the Member States. However, if the Treaty of Rome of 1958 tells us that we must ensure that all Europeans are fed and that we must guarantee food security, this is a European policy. It is not a policy of the Member States Today, this situation shows, in addition to the selfishness of a number of Member States, that what is lacking is not more Europe but rather a European will on the part of a number of Heads of State or Government.
