lpv:translated text	"I endorsed the resolution on human rights, sexual orientation and gender identity at the United Nations. I would like to stress the need for the Member States to act on the findings of reports published by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, and in particular the findings contained in its report of November 2010 entitled ‘Homophobia, transphobia and discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity’. In relation to this, I also call on the European Commission to draw up and introduce an EU instrument to tackle abuse and violence caused by hatred of LGBT people and motivated by prejudice. I also support the call expressed in the resolution for the active promotion of human rights in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity in partnership with third countries. Bilateral human rights dialogues and use of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights are important in this respect. It is essential that the issues of sexual orientation and gender identity be a permanent part of the work of the Human Rights Council and of other UN bodies. This subject should be discussed at the 19th session of the Human Rights Council in 2012."@en1
