On the one hand, the report’s aim is certainly commendable, insofar as it proposes the adoption of measures aimed at preventing financial crises such as the Greek problem from reoccurring. However, such measures would entail substantial EU intervention in national budgets, which could result in excessive EU interference in the economic affairs of Member States. I therefore prefer to abstain from voting on measures of this kind so long as it is impossible to assess in detail what impact they will have on Member States."@en1
