"Given current events, managing migrant and refugee flows represents a challenge which the European Union must solve swiftly. The Jędrzejewska draft report, which I endorsed, is a step in the right direction. The European countries of the Mediterranean, including France, are most exposed to the issue. Moreover, in a spirit of solidarity, the European Union pledged to release additional funds to the tune of EUR 43.5 million to help those Member States most exposed to these flows. Thus, the European agency for managing operational cooperation at the external borders of the Member States of the European Union (Frontex) and the European Refugee Fund will be the main beneficiaries."@en1
