We welcome his proposal for stability bonds to lay the basis for future growth. Many of us understand that Germany has no wish to add to its public debt of EUR 2 000 billion the underwriting of some EUR 3 200 billion issued by the weaker countries of the Union, but does he foresee for the future a common budgetary programme for the eurozone, so that common bonds might be issued for future borrowing? Will he seek to extend the mandate of the European Central Bank, perhaps to add the pursuit of sustainable growth to the goal of price stability?"@en1
