"Mr President, Mr Barroso, ladies and gentlemen, today, Mr Barroso, you sounded full of vim and vigour, and that gives us hope for the immediate future. The crisis calls for immediate choices and timescales that we should probably not have chosen in normal circumstances. I cannot nor do I wish to imagine the scenario that would unfold if Europe and the euro were to fail. Therefore the choices turn on three issues: on reforms to the way that things work, a plan to emerge from the crisis and attention to timing. I shall refer solely to the plan for a solution to the crisis, which is growth, and which must be achieved. Here we have a great game, which you mentioned in connection with project bonds, relating to this Marshall plan, which we can now call a modern ‘Barroso plan’, concerning the EUR 1.6 trillion that are going into the construction of this great infrastructure plan. To make those of us who believe like me and like so many in this House once more proud of this Europe: that is the goal we must achieve right away. Pay heed to the urgency, President Barroso."@en1
