"Mr President, following the events of 1953 in Berlin, when the politburo of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany issued the statement that the people had forfeited the confidence of the politburo, Bertolt Brecht recommended that the politburo elect another people who would not forfeit its confidence. I got the impression from the speech of President Barroso and others that the European states, the European nations, had forfeited the confidence of the Commission. I would therefore like to recommend that President Barroso elects another European people, who will not forfeit his confidence."@en1
