"Mr President, I would like to thank Mr Barroso very much for his speech, especially for the many specific measures he has mentioned. As a Dutchman, I am always concerned about the pace of the progress we are making. I have the impression that the financial markets want Europe to speed things up. We have a saying in the Netherlands which goes: ‘There is a difference between being right – and Mr Barroso is, indeed, right – and proving yourself to be right’. We need to prove ourselves right. We have already spoken about the relationship with the Council this morning, but I would ask Mr Barroso to reflect on the criticism from outside Europe. Mr Greithner was in Poland last week, where he felt it his place to make comments on the pace of reform in Europe. The BRICS countries, too, now want to help Europe. I, personally, find that to be tantamount to an insult to Europe. I would appreciate a response from you."@en1
