"Mr President, President of the Commission, thank you for your speech. I have to say that it is actually the first time in two years that I believe what you are saying. I think that you made a good speech today. Having said that, however, I would also like to say that we are experiencing a very serious crisis, both in political and in economic terms. We therefore need to put words into action. You need to show us results, and you need to show us concrete proposals. I would like to make a few comments in this regard, because we need something that goes far beyond what we have on the table right now. We need a comprehensive, coordinated crisis plan for Europe, which will ensure stability, sustainability and social justice. In this connection, we need three things: 1) a resolute assurance to the markets that we are standing shoulder to shoulder with regard to the euro – there must be no more hitches, and you must take the lead here; 2) we cannot use cuts and savings to bring us more growth and employment – we need an investment plan and a jobs plan; 3) the focus needs to be placed on revenue again in Europe. Thank you for your proposal for a financial tax – we have waited a long time for it. Mr Barroso, we must convert what you have said today into concrete action. We need to stop believing that cuts and pretence can save Europe. We must have an overarching, comprehensive crisis strategy, and that is the most important job for you to do over the next few months."@en1
