"Mr President, President Barroso, you have said that we should be frank. You have made some very important statements and I thank you for this. We would like more Europe, but we cannot seem to find any more common political will. You made a good point in saying that Europe will have a future if we manage to establish trust, for which we first need stable growth and political will on the part of our leaders. People are concerned, frightened. We live in a time when many young people no longer see the reason for European integration. They are concerned only with living their lives. You have announced that you will call on companies to offer young people more work opportunities and make use of the European Social Fund. This is not enough. We need tangible action, and young people need hope. The crisis of trust is just as serious as the economic and financial crisis. Our citizens will never support our actions unless they trust us. Our measures are always accompanied by tardiness and indecision. We are even losing a generation of young people that still believes in Europe. We are also losing countries waiting to join the Union, the countries of the Western Balkans. These countries have a European perspective but, President Barroso, you have not mentioned their future once today. That is why we must win back the people’s trust. Thank you very much."@en1
